Hymer- 549328708, lush green valley, very large, North mild climate,no disasters, medium start tomato and blackberry seeds
note- ice castle enabled after map start, otherwise it would change the climate.

major change. added KID’s wildlife start mod above RK. this changes the thatch by removing the flowers. ran some quick tests. what flowers did appear, was very few, were collected as thatch. this should make things look better and give us more thatch which can be used to feed livestock or as a firewood. we won’t have flowers filling barns. you can use RED’s fodder hut to plant grass with flowers for perfume if wanted. this may alter the gathering outputs a bit. with a medium start setting, the wild animals from the RK mod still load. the trees and terrain are still per the RK mod settings. i think this will be a nice improvement.

2nd big change added Tom’s Nordic landscape mod. this changes the climate to that of the North mod. it also brightens the terrain. crops produce best at 70 degrees f. and there is a loss of veggy and fruits with the drop in temperature in the fall. hence, food production will be lower. this effect will be balanced with KID’s gardens. the low temps of the North mild is about what i have where i live but the highs are much lower in the game. overall the climate is more like Northern New York state, about 200 or so miles farther north.

mod adjustments- a lot of mods have been removed to do this. added KID’s Christmas 2020,upgraded KID’s boat mod and added KID’s fruit and nut mod. this will go well with the farmyards and animal plus mods. added more of TOM’s nordic mods.added Angainor88 Japanese castle, several of KID’s castle mods, and EB monument mods.

note- KID ice castle has to be enabled after starting the map or it will alter the climate setting.

goal- build an industrial trade city around 5 castle forts, North, Indian, Colonial ,ice-Christmas, and Japanease. test the terrain changes and more of TOM’s addon mods. this will show off some of the castle mods. it is no where near all of them. this will be a challenging map as the areas around each castle will be different plus the crop changes. if i figure this right, there will be 5 actual castles, 3 forts, a walled town and, 2 cities. each castle, fort, or city will need to help with supplies or trade items. 1 will supply stone, another lumber and logs, and another tobacco, and so on.

    YEAR 5 and 6

the gathering system has changed.. all the berries that RED had spawn with the flowers are gone. so far no textile crops such as cotton or flax have been collected. i did send the workers to collect food and herbs a few times in the fall. the pine items and some of KID’s and Tandy’s are being collected. most likely we will see an overpowering of roots and onions being collected. we are stockpiling furs and pelts via the pine mod and KID’s guard tower hunters.

it was late summer when the 3 settlers arrived. they will cut trees and gather food east of the fort. this will supply the fort with logs. the fort walls are finished.

it is early autumn of year 6 when the group of 5 settlers arrive. 3 adults with a set of twins.they help cut trees around the fort and gather food before winter. the men have orders to cut marble and the wife will make fur coats. this will give us 2 trade goods.

13 settlers arrive.4 couples, a teen, and 4 children. 1 couple builds a coffee house for the fort workers. 2 couples expand the farms.1 brought goats. the other collects honey from bees that pollinate the orchard. the 4th couple built a lighthouse and will be our trade vendors.

while the trade post was being stocked, the bannies worked to clear more land. a barber and bank were added at the fort. these will house more workers. a stable for horses was fenced.

    YEAR 9

5 settlers arrived. 1 will tend to chickens and the horse stable. they brought our doctor. 1 will hunt along the east lake. they helped fence a cemetary.

our plan is to sell half the marble that is cut each year. this “money”, a variety of coins, ingets, silver pfenning, and gold guilder, will be stored as insurance to be traded later. the trade post was doubled for this purpose. it will bring in more merchants.

we traded for strawberry seed and pigs.

    YEAR 10 REVIEW

population 82, in 22 houses. the bannies have worked hard. the fort walls are complete and it has a bank, news stand, offices for a mayor, doc, map maker, a stable, barber, 2 tailors, RH blacksmith, marble quarry, post office, school, and a coffee house. matterials are being moved and stored for future mines. the trade post is stocked with marble and fur coats. there is more planned for the fort but it is ready to take in more settlers.

i think the different growth stages of the grass instead of the flowers is a good improvement. the gardens help vary our diets which keeps the bannies happy. the happiness graph does show some bumps. it is very subtle but this does seem to slow down the work. health has improved.

goals- i’d like to build 1 castle, fort, or town every decade. . there are 2 big challenges to that. 1 we need to stretch the map to access each zone. 2 we need to produce a lot of many different materials, stone, lumber, iron, and even glass and bricks, as well as some others. i plan to move north to start planting forests. a drawbridge will cross the main river, we need stone and iron from there.

    YEAR 10 and 11

6 Canadians showed up at the fort. they have a forest community to our north. they will supply us with logs and lumber.the pine forests will take a few years to grow and produce. the foresters have a lot of trees to replace. the following year 4 more Canadians, a couple with 2 children, were spotted. they are busy planting maple trees.

the fort workers have built a drawbridge over the main river and been busy fencing the pigs and goats in.

we sold 160 marble for 150 pfenning, 4 silver ingots, 660 coins, and 16 gold guilder. we also traded for some flour and peach seeds.

    YEAR 12-14

11 bannies arrived, 8 workers with 3 children. they head west across the river. 2 couples will move north to build a fort and produce iron, 2 couples move south to build a castle and produce stone. the north village builds a quartmaster for the fort and starts digging a multi mine for the iron. the south plants the field berries and quarries stone.

the Canadians built a KID sawmill. soon we wil have lumber and iron. we’ve also increased our stone and log outputs.

we sold 750 marble. we trade for field berry seed, chicken meat,900 cabbages, and some cookies.

5 settlers arrived in late spring, a couple with 2 children and the man’s brother. the brother will hunt the Canadian forests. the father will cut firewood. the wife teaches at the Sherbrooke school. the multi mine was completed and some cleanup has been done. the distance to the outer towns does slow progress.

we sold 500 marble. we took turkey meat and wild honey in trade. it won’t be needed for a while, but we traded for the white mulberry seeds and some cured leather.

12 settlers arrive. 3 couples with 6 children. 1 couple will expand the farming to keep everyone fed. they build a house near walnut and apple trees amd femced in another pasture. the other 2 couples head north to begin processing the pine items. a furrier hut to make pelt clothing, a sap boiler, and a charcoal kiln are built.

we trade the silver pfenning and gold guilder that the marble was sold for to the British fort for iron. they built a building supply trade post and a bakery. the British used the money to buy firewood and thatch.

we trade for tomatoes, chanterelles, peaches, and muskets. we sold 800 marble. we traded for root and sunflower seeds.

    YEAR 20 REVIEW

population grew to 166 bannies in 40 houses. there are 24 students being educated in 2 schools. we now have 4 areas. the start colonial fort, the Canadian’s to bring in logs. the British fort for iron, and the monk castle for stone. we have much work ahead for each area. it was necessary to get these started as we do need the building materials.

the pine and maple forests had time to start producing. the Canadians have started the processing of pine boughs and maple sap. the Brits bring in military supply which is needed to build the fort. they are trading some of the money from the marble. the building supplies will be needed later. they also are making hardtack to feed more fort workers. the monks are using stone as fast as they bring it in.

we’ve made good progress at stockpiling food and firewood. we have pigs and milk cows. we seeds for tomato, strawberry, field berries, roots, sunflowers, blackberry, peaches, and white mulberries. the marble has paid us well.

goals- we need more iron very quickly. the Canadians have more forests to plant. if we can get the stone and iron up, they can build their castle. as the population grows in each area, i would like to build churches.

we expect 3 groups of nomads. 1 to each of the 3 new areas. the fort graduates will expand the farms to support everyone.

a graduate couple built a cow and pig shed. these will be fed thatch and roots. the Canadians built a turpentine still. the fort added a 2nd barracks.

as soon as we started to clear land for the 1st castle, a family of 5 arrived. they move to the British fort. a work camp and blockhouse are built. the bannies found time to haul the supplies for the castle. it will take time to build.

we trade for 1300 blueberries,1100 bread, 500 stone, and cucumber seed. the Brits bought 100 iron, 100 stone, 100 charcoal and 400 firewood. we sold 500 marble.

the colonial fort swapped iron tools to the Brits for thatch. then, they helped build a blacksmith at the British fort. they fenced a cemetary, constructed a small office, and planted another garden. markets were built for all 3 areas to help move supplies.

WOW, 43 citizens arrived. 30 workers with 13 children. we were expecting half as many with a 10% welcome sign. a 3rd of them, 5 couples will head to the Monk’s and build towers for housing. the others move into the fort barracks and help cut trees for both the Monk’s and Brits. the Monk’s built an RK fishing pier and a CC abbey.

the Brits bought more thatch, 200 stone, 100 iron, and 900 logs. we trade for carrots, tomatoes, wild oats, and apple seed. another 500 marble was sold.

this is a lot of bannies to move. half of those that moved to the Monks have jobs. while they continue to build workplaces, 5 couples move to Canada to expand the forests. the Monks built a school and church and planted 2 gardens near the abbey. Canada planted another pine and maple forest. they also built a 2nd hunter hut, a trapper, and an herbalist hut.

the last 5 couples will move to the British fort. they planted cucumbers and built a school. a forward post and musket range were constructed. we increase to 10 builders and will leave 5 working fulltime on the Canadian castle. 20 laborers will clear land and move materials.

the Brits bought more thatch, 100 logs, and 200 stone. we sold 500 marble. the main trader traded for 2000 eggs and 1100 cucumbers, 1000 chicken meat, and 2000 cranberries.

so many graduated that we need over 12 houses and 15 workplaces. 8 will move to Canada and plant and work 2 more forests. 1 couple builds a house at the fort and a tiny bakery and butcher. 4 couples begin moving supplies south of the Colonial fort for a mine village. these supplies will be needed for a city farther south.

after they completed the Canadian Castle, the 5 builders started work on the British Fort walls.

we sold another 250 marble. the Brits bought 200 iron.

    YEAR 29

after all that work, we need 7 more houses to catch housing up and 12 workplaces. 1 couple moves to the British fort to help move goods for the market and trade post. another couple will assist the main trade posts. a couple will plant an apple orchard in Canada near the north stream. 2 others move to the mine plaza and build a church and school. the plaza was extended to store more goods.

the Canadians are building a cider press and whiskey still. a hospital and a herbailst are almost finsihed. 3 houses are under construction. i pushed the bannies more than they wanted so not all projects were completed. it was agood time to do it at the end of the decade.

the Brits bough 450 firewood. we take 1600 cranberries, 2000 eggs, 200 nutbread, and some bear meat in at the main trade post. we continue selling 250 marble.

    YEAR 30 REVIEW

population 312 in 79 houses and 2 barracks. almost doubled in 10 years. there are 5 churches and schools. 2 houses for workers are under construction at the Colonial fort. otherwise the 1st area is complete. the 2nd area, Canada, has its castle and the 3rd, the British fort, is working on building its walls. both these areas will add more bannies and decorations.

the Colonial fort has many shop houses, including a post office and barber. there is a market and a Pilgrim’s Rest tavern. there are 6 hunters at the guard towers. the fort makes both leather and fur coats. it also makes bear steaks and nutbread. the high valued marble is both traded for seed and livestock and sold for flour and money. part of this money supports the British fort. the rest is stored to support the city in the future.

our production of firewood needs to increase. we do have enough food and other supplies.

goals- the bannies need a year to catch up. there is much clean up to be done and construction projects to finish. they’ll work to finish the British fort walls. then, i can decide if we can take in more nomad groups. i want to take time on the Monk Castle to decorate and add a larger stone quarry. hoping i can do a decent job of making that look really nice.

before much work is done for the Monks however, i do want to run a train to extend the map farther east. this will use the coins that we have been selling marble for. the train is a good auto trader to bring in food to support the city and move other goods. the marble quarry has about a 3rd remaining. before it runs out, i want to improve the flow of the trading. we get so many boats with such a mixture of items that we don’t get enough needed goods. hence not enough value is traded out each year and inventories of unneeded goods increases in the barns. for example the building supply trade post at the British fort brings precious minerals and pine items that we have too much of and doesn’t always bring logs and iron or firewood that we do use.

the bannies don’t like working so far away from their homes. to build the train all the way to the east map edge, they will need a train station village to speed up the progress.
