The forester lodge is a settled and quite modern workplace. It defines a large area to plant and chop down trees introducing sustainable forestry to your town. This lodge also serves as a home for a foresters family, if a balcony is added and the attic expanded.
Size: | 6 x 8 tiles |
Building Materials: | 102 Logs, 49 Stones, 37 Panes, 9 Fittings and 1 Pottery in total |
Building Time: | 201 in total |
Production: | Logs and planting Pine Trees |
Workers: | 1 – 8 foresters |
Residence for | a family of 5 people |
Fuel Efficiency: | 90% |
Risk on Fire: | High |
Toolbar: | Resource Production |
The home of the foresters family is a separate object placed to the left of the lodge. So keep 1 tile width free in this location. It is also possible to run the foresters workplace without the home extension.
If your people can’t effort this lodge yet, they can go with Woodcutter Cabins and rely on natural forest regeneration.

The materials are meant in total including the home extension. For a cheap workplace to cut down trees, the woodcutter cabin is the perfect choice and more efficient than people tend to think.
I slightly reworked the page to make things more clear.

In my game, the most recent version of The North, version 7, the building costs are a bit different from this wiki. In my game is says 60 logs, 48 stone, 36 glass panes, and 8 fittings.
That seems like a lot of glass panes needed for a place mainly to cut down trees. But, it is a house too, with the add-on. I guess being surrounded by so many trees, they need all the light they can get.
