If people consume it in the tavern, it doesn’t count as food. If they carry it home, it does.
Thanks, Tom. So, am I making a mistake using the tavern as a meat roasting place to preserve food?
Yes, roasting meat in the tavern is meant as an option to provide entertainment if grain for alcohol poduction is short. To preserve meat, you should smoke or salt it.
cool cool, thanks m8, u explained it like a god=)
What does it mean for vanila campfire standalone mod?
nothing like “preserving” metric is in the game and making it doesnt need education also makes no sense:D
from what i see, it will just make from 40 meat the same 48 meat, the only effect it really has… could you please explain?
That is what it makes, 48 roasted meat from 40 raw meat per work step. With the standalone mod for vanilla, the campfire makes roasted meat only from venison. Numbers are a bit different but it’s also a plus of 20% food.
Increasing the amount of available food from another food resource is the only mechanic in this game to make all the salting, smoking and roasting useful. It makes some sense if you think of it in a generalized way, like you have an amount of meat and over time you will have more of it (left) if you preserved it.

When meat is roasted in a tavern, does it count as both food and entertainment? Or is it one or the other?
